Loosening Up: Five Out-of-the-Box Ways to Design a Quilt

Are you ready to move to the next level with your quilting? Do you feel that creating fresh designs is beyond your scope? Then this class, which presents techniques to jumpstart your design process, is for you!

Hands-on experiments open the door beyond blocks, patterns and templates. Unique and creative quilts ARE within the reach of every quilter. Find your own approach to quilt design. You will come away with the seeds for distinctive quilts. One day class. This is a No Sewing Machine Required class.

Machine Quilting for Beginners

Learn about needles and batting, notions and binding, ditching and stippling. This class covers it all, the basic supplies and equipment, straight line quilting, free motion quilting and all aspects of finishing your quilt. For beginners and those who want to brush up on machine quilting skills while picking up new pointers. Lots of time to practice. Two day class, sewing machine with walking and darning feet required.

The Eyes Have It:  Inspiration

Anita’s lecture contains a message of encouragement to all quilters:  the potential for artistry resides in each and every one of us.  Anyone can learn to find inspiration in every aspect of life; all that’s needed is a willingness to try.  Anita provides concrete tips on how to train one’s eyes to look at the world in a different way – the artist’s way. As a model, she chronicles her own artistic journey -- from Brooklyn schoolgirl to award-winning quilter -- with insight, pathos, and humor. Take the trip with her and find the tools to access your own inner artist.  You’ll never look at things in the same way again!

Fees

Classes:

• $300 for one day class, about 4 to 5 hours
• $500 for two day class, about 8 to 10 hours

Lectures:

• $250 for one hour lecture/trunk show
